It has been a full week

Week one went rather fast. I have learned in this MA course. Time and assignments wait for no man.

I have been immersed by some of the most interesting and learned lecturers in my DIBM programme. Kathleen Hinwood (Senior Lecturer in Advertising and Copywriting) Her lectures in Marketing Design and Communications have been eye-opening. I love the grace and knowledge she speaks when lecturing the class. Even though most of us messed up in the first week's task. She wasn’t happy. Ouch!

Continuing from week one’s lecture on how we perceive the values of things, the value we place on objects being subjective, and how it is communicated to a wider audience. Aesthetic and semiotics, their meaning. Building up on our reflective writing skills. and many more. These are topics I will delve a lot into in my own spare time away from official lecture hours.

Critical thinking is exactly what it says on the pack because after every lecture by Dr Sophie Frost (Lecturer in Creative Leadership). You leave with a lot of inspiration on topics like Dimensions of Creativity and the Barriers to it. Viewed videos that were thought-provoking. And enjoyed the Future thinking exercise inspired by one of the books she recommended which I am reading now. Imaginable by Jane McGonigal.

As usual, Brian brings fun and great insight to his lecture on Good/Poor Designs and their principles lectures. We were told to bring an item from our daily lives and define if they were Poor or good design. I bought my ever-trusted phone charger. Never leave the house without it.

I also love what my fellow coursemates bought as it showed a lot about how cute, serious, and sometimes quirky characteristics they have. This shows the fun nature of creative people when brought together in one place. As the assignments are building up as ……………and damn! They are building up. It's important to dive into these assignments from day one.
